Questions on hunting land
 

There is about 200 acres of land that i can hunt it has about 5 corn and bean field and the rest of it is woods i dont have a portable stand and i was just able to scout the land for about an Hour
Does any one have recomendations on what you would do in this situation

Go get a portable stand. Find out where the deer enter the fields, hang your newly acquired portable stand in the staging area 15 yards off the field.

It's hard to say without all of the specifics. But with what's mentioned, I would look to hang a stand on the edge of the timber near the corn. Probably want to hang at least a couple of stands so you can hunt different wind directions.

Make a ground blind with crap you find. I cant count the number of deer ive taken from make shift blinds from the ground. Make it out of tumble weeds, old branches, wood piles, etc. etc... That and decent camo will work.

Or get you a pop up one. Never used one, but lots of peolple like them.

burnie, has some good advice but I'm not a ground person. Get a portable climber. I prefer a single piece loggy (bad marketing when a fan can't tell you what the model is called today). Go in during day light and hunt somewhere. Just get up a tree in the best place you can find. Just because you don't get a deer in front that hunt isn't bad. Hopefully you see them and can guess where they will be next. Sitting in a stand is still scouting.

Most important, during the rut, you choose a tree and a Does walks by 60 yrds away with a buck on her trail and/or a group of Does the same thing, MOVE!!!!!! The noise you make, hopefully little, will pay off because 9 out of 10 times, nice bucks will follow that same path that day. You have the choice of watching or shooting.

If your scouting hasn't turned up any really definded trails yet and you're going to go ahead and hunt it I would set up 5 to 10 yards inside the wood line at the corner of one of the fields....whichever corner is closest to the thickest part of the timber depending on the winds......if you don't have a protable climber I would buy one, even if it's a Dick's special for only $80....or if worse comes to worse you could always put up a climbing stick and a hangon in 30-45 minutes depending on how proficient you are........
