anyone not use bow loops?
I put a bow loop on my bow today, and i was shooting 8 inches high, and 5 inchesright. I took it off and was dead center. I cant mess up my sight trying to sight it in so close to the season, so I think im going to not use one at all.
anyone else just just clip there release on the string? does it damage it after time? |
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
thats because when you put the loop on you werent lookn through your peep sight the same as before

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I do not use a loop. I have a 15 year old release and it does not mess up my string. But the same does not go for other releases! I shoot good without a loop and see no reason for me to add one?>

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I go directly to the string. I just double serve, starting just below where the bottom of the nock sits. I only go down about an inch and a half. When it starts to show wear, or seperation, I take it off and re-do it.

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I dont use a loop either and I didnt have any wear or damage to my strings either.

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
It could be because when you were shooting just the string you clipped your release under the nock of the arrow. Then when you put the d-loop on your release is now directly behind the arrow. This also messes with your anchor point. I used to shoot bare string until this season. The reason i switched was because of the string wear and nock pinch. I think it made me more accurate too!

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I shoot right off the string and always have. I have never had string wear issues. I have a single noc set then space for the noc and then a rubber spacer.(I forgot the name if it.....bowtech comes standard with them from the factory) The rubber spacer keeps the arrow in place while waiting to shoot and keeps the release from pinching the arrow at full draw.
Good Luck! |
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
If you shoot from the string you gain a little speed as well. I switched from a string loop and it hasn't caused any issue with my serving. The guys at our shop recommended and it is working for me.

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
for whose of you who dont use one, do you just grab your release right under the nock? up flush against it on the bottom side.
|
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
Bottom side of arrow.I never put a knock on the bottom of a arrow. I also tie my knocks I do not like the metal ones.
|
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
Directly on the served string.
|
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I don't use a loop i never have no damage to my string either. Next year i am switching releases and am thinking about putting a loop on.

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
I have never used one, no reason for one either! I have no wear on the string and my bow shoots where I put my pin!!!!

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
ORIGINAL: geterdun3 for whose of you who dont use one, do you just grab your release right under the nock? up flush against it on the bottom side. I have a speed button right under the nock and directly under that is where I put my release on!! |

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
It won't damage the string but it will put some wear on the serving. Personally I don't like a loop I just can't bring myself to trust them.

RE: anyone not use bow loops?
One thing to all you string shooters. Please try this
Pull a nock off your arrow and put it on your string like you are going to shoot a arrow. Draw the bow and look at the position of the nock. It will be pointing almost straight down. Do you thing this will cause any change in arrow flight when released? With a loop on the nock will be pointing right at your rest. Give it a try and make your own call on weather it affects your shot. |
RE: anyone not use bow loops?
i did the same thing but it was early in the summer, so i had time. I had to move my peep, my kisser button, and my sights, it really does change everything, but im glad i did it, my arrows have no porpuising and all...i switched releases to a scott wildcat to make up the difference in draw length... so there is a lot more to it than just putting on a string loop.... good luck this season...
