Guys, what do you do for gnats and skeeters??? Last week bear hunting they killed me. Next week is the bow opener here in MI and I want to be ready for the little buggers.

The best thing I've found is made by Sawyer's. It's got permethrin and it's a clothes treatment spray. Spray it on generously and let try for several hours. It's available at D!cks's sporting goods usually in the camping section. It's in an arousal can. Be sure to do your boots and socks and heaving round cuffs! Works great. Oh, and for any exposed skin I like No Stinkin Bugs...no odor bug spray. Also available at D!cks's. Good luck!

Thermacell is the bugs nuts. It works well on mosquitoes for sure. However, I find it less effective on gnats and biting flies (especially deer flies). A product containing DEET repellant is always in my bag too.

Have you found anything that works on the gnats too? I can't stand it when they swarm my head. It makes me crazy...

I use the Repel Cream in the little squeeze bottle. Keep in in my pack with the Thermocell.
Put the Repel on way before your ready to go out so it dries completely on your face. If you go to soon it tends to make you sweat when warm outside. Here is the little spray bottle. 100% Deet. REPEL SPRAY

thermacell is simply amazing on mosquitos and gnats.

last year while turkey hunting in alabama, dad was getting eaten alive. he noticed i wasnt swatting any, and asked was i not getting bi. i made the mistake of showin him my thermacell while laughing. he got up, walked over to me, took the thermacell wen back and set down, and sat it on his shoulder where they kept biting him. i was hilarious at first until the bugs moved back in on me.[:@]

i have honestly NEVER been bit by a mosquito while the thermacell was on for atleast 10 minutes or so.
