What an evening!!!
 

I know this doesn't really fit in here but I mainly post in this forum and was very proud of him and wanted to share!

Well the boy was torn between going Bowhunting or Fishing this evening. I told him to think about it while at school and let me know when I pick him up! I had the Fishing tackle and the Bowhunting gear all loaded in the Truck when I picked him up from school! He got in the truck and said its to hot to go hunting, 85 degrees so lets go to the big Lake and try for Salmon! Well I think he made the right choice how bout you?? He hooked into a couple others but they cut the line!

His first Chinook Salmon! He caught it on 8lb test it was around 32 inches and weighed 20+ pounds and took him about 20 minutes to land him! He was struggling pretty good, I was smiling the whole time! The first thing he said was: "Dad I don't know if we should eat him or get him mounted, it's my first Chinook". Well he decided to get him mounted! Hell I thought we were going to have a good cheap evening of fishing, at $10 an inch I don't think so!

Don't beleve there is nothing better than seeing young folks yhat enjoy the outdoors--The smile says it all--Great fish and I'm sure in years to come worth ever penny!!!

That is great! There is nothing better than seeing a happy child enjoying the outdoors. Kudos to you for being a good Dad and introducing him to fishing and hunting.
