RE: Internet Peer Pressure
That is sort of fun BC b/c this year I was going to take some does off of my farm, but after looking over my camera pics and just what I have seen, I don't think I need to anymore. In fact, I think I have more bucks than does if you don't count fawns. So, basically I was giving into the pressure early, but have now switched.
I really start feeling the pressure in Nov when so many have good bucks down and my tag is still in my pocket. |
RE: Internet Peer Pressure
I agree that taking does is a good thing (especially in Montgomery County). It builds confidence so when the time comes for the wall hanger you will have a better chance at a clean kill.
I have let many does go by in years past because I had one or two in the freezer. This year I have decided to harvest as many as possible and donate the meat. From MD DNR website: Montgomery Cold Box Drop Off Location 20301 Whites Ferry Road Poolesville, MD 20837 Contact: Tom Wiles 301-922-2496 Notes: Contact Tom Wiles between 7am and 7pm to schedule a deer drop off. All deer must be legally checked in as with any other location. |
RE: Internet Peer Pressure
No pressure for me, I always kill the first doe I get a shot at....

Guys nothing like the first taste of tenderloins fresh. I think I made the right choice by taking her.
