I checked the target practice one, because I did do that, but also I fletched up about 5 dozen arrows at the archery shop, put in a couple peeps, tied some loops, tuned a couple rigs. Tis the season...

Not sure why people get mad this time of year in IL with the season no 11 days away and they want a new string, cables, arrows, and tuned...but i want it done yesterday. Come on guys, use your noodles!

Checked equipment wasasclose a thing on there you had to what I did.
Been using Thunderheads for years with the compound but have always beena big fan ofSnuffers with the Recurve. My Son picked me up a pack of the 125 grain Stainless, so I put them on the strap last night to get them sharp, Real Sharp! Cant wait to deflate something with one!

I actually took the night off and watched the contender on ESPN. First night I haven't watch hunting vidoes in a while. Trying to pace myself, I still have to wait until 10/13.

I called a big ole' Tom into about 40 yards and had a Doe at about 60 yards! It was a good evening sit! I was on stand for about 3.5 hours!

Hunted.

Had one doe stay just outta range. Oh well. Dropped off a couple of arrows to have them re-fletched B4 I went. Going to blazers now. Hopefully a better decision. We'll see.

I went hunting, saw a bunch of longbeards but not close enough and then saw A nice buck about 2 minutes after closing time. He was hanging around 50-60 yards in the direction I needed to go so I had to wait. He stuck around till it was pitch dark, even then I wasn't sure. I'm pumped, know just where to put my tree climber now to maybe get a better look at him tonight.Winds will be he same according to the weather man. With any luck I'll get a wack at a long beard early and A wack at him just before shooting time ends.

It looks like I'm the only one still hanging stands.
The private community I'll be doing most of my hunting this year seems to be void of rubs. I'm guessing that the 75 deer per sq./mi. thing has something to do w/ it.
The bucks don't seem torub until later in year because of the population. I know thier velvet is gone.

Guess I limped around the lodge. lol

Bad neck since last Saturday morning has prevented me from doing much of anything.
