ok this is my 1st year w/ a compound but i have shoot a couple bucks but i want a 140 or a 125i no he's 125 but is he 140???

um, yea, take the shot. You may find out that it's not that easy to turn trail cam pics into shots.

yea u'r probly right my only thing is on teh same farm i have PERSONLY SAW a 18 point and i no of a couple otehr people that haev seen him n 1 of them ppl is a buckeye official scorer and he siad he will go 220 i mean he is a monster!! but who no's

Did you see my post from last week??? That was my first big buck, let alone with a bow. My buck is a complete, shameful, candya#@ compared to him.

if you have a 220 inch buck in your area i would certainly wait a few weeks before harvesting that buck, although he is a helluva nice buck

If its your first year shoot what you can and get some deer under your belt. It will help take some edge off when the big boy walks in front of you. If your first der isnt a pope I wouldnt worry about it. My first was a spike. I didnt shoot a pope till deer number 7.

Do you have a goal in mind?

If you have an opportunity to bust his a$$, you better not pass unless you know of something bigger and have the confidence to kill him.

He's a great buck.

Hard to tell about the spread. They always look bigger looking at them from behind. No 140 but agreat buck just the same.

it is tough to judge width at that angle but it looks like a solid 130

Does it really matter if he's 125 or 140 if you shoot him. Nice buck either way...need a better photo to decipher if he's close to 140 than 125.

Hmmm, do I shoot the real nice P&Y buck or wait on the 220" slammer? Man, that's a nice problem to have. Considering I've never shot a buck as big as the one in the pic, I'd take him.

I've been fortunate enough to shoot a couple that meet the 130+. It took nearly 20 years, but I won't hesitate if another comes along.

A respectable buck is a respectable buck, period. That buck in the pic is a respectable buck.

You have nothing to prove to anyone. Most bowhunters have never had the opportunity to see a buck of that quality much less have an opportunity to shoot one that good.

Don't fall into the rut of feeling as though you're asking permission to shoot a particular buck because someone else would pass it.

Some would say pass it...let it go till next year... he's not a mature 4.5 yr old...

It's all about YOU! If that buck doesn't get your heart pumping, there is a need to say...Houston, we have a problem....

Given the situation, alotted time in the field, as some have the priviledge of more time in the field than most, and so many more variables, it ultimately is your choice when it comes down to crunch time.

Never ask permission, never apologize for what you choose to shoot. Be proud of your choice. No one can take that away from you.

Well thanks guys i just want to c if he was 140! n ya i've been told let him go a year n he'll b 150 or better!!! well i got new s for them people if he gets into range I won't hesitate a BIT. so too BAD for teh 1's who want him 2 GROW!!!!thanks for all the REPLIES

After some quick math, I aggree. Solid 130 and introduce him to your freezer.

He's wide and decent tine length...probably 130-135, but I doubt if he'd make 140. Definitely a fine buck.
