To be a smart@ss.. I wouldn't draw on an animal in the middle of the night![8D]
20 yds.. I don't wannasound like a dick, but we all should all be able to hit and kill a broadside deer at 20 yds almost with our eyes closed if you've done the practice you MUST do prior to the season. It's the 40 and 50 yd shots that are more of a concern at least to me.

red-ground green-treestand Please dont question, My 20 yd pin is actually 23.5 yds dead-on to be exact. Why? I dont know, thats about where my average 20 yd shot seems to be for the last 6 yrs, so why set for 20 and shoot low I guess.

Alright, take this picture and add a red spot as to where you would put your sight pin. Then repost the picture.Just pretend he walked out on you at 20 yards and you are full drawn..
BTW this is not my picture just one I found on tha net...
Also you may use green to show were you would aim outta treestand

I'm not shooting at all. It's not legal to shoot deer at 1:20 a.m.
This is where I'm aiming on the ground or in the air.

I wanted to wait until everyone had their say. Interesting how many would shoot it for a 10 ring on a McKenzie deer. I've always said they were training people to shoot too high and too far back.
Anyway, IMO this is a no-shoot situation. He's alert, looking dead at me and his leg/shoulder blade is covering up too much kill area. I'd not draw until he relaxes, puts his head back down to feed and moves that near side leg forward to open up the straight shot to the heart.

I'd probably aim a bit higher than other posts. The buck appears to be a little closer to the "tree" so I believe I would aim higher to get both lungs and a low exit on the other side.
