RE: Deer Mount question....State Plaques
I work at a custom woodworking shop and made a couple of these out of brown hard maplein my "spare" time. All were cut using a cnc and then the edges were rounded overusing a router. How big are we talking to mount multiple heads on?

What species of wood? We have maple and red oak for sure. Looking at NC it would be best to do 6' wide by 3-4' tall by 1- 1 1/2" thick? You'll definetely have to mount it to the studs as this would be one heavy piece. The only thing that concerns me is warping on a piece that big. I had a problem with the IL plaques warping and had to cut back reliefs to keep them flat . Let me check at work Mon. on prices of the wood and i'll get back to ya.

CDG:
I know from being a contractor to trust the guys who actually do the work!
I would want a darker stain or piece of wood (If I can afford such an animal). Let me know.
Thanks, again......real craft you do.....

Thanks for the compliments all. Getting a darker color shouldnt be a problem. The one pictured is just 3-4 coats of polyurethane. I think they look even better with a head hangin off em!
