Hawiian deer hunter

Seen this place on Maui.......think they are Axis deer.....has anyone hunted this type of deer?

hard to tell from the pic, no I have not hunted them but they are on the list.

We used to have an awesome member here from Hawaii by the username Maui Wes. I used to love his stories of the islands.

Yes they are Axis and some very large bucks. You can also hunt pig, turkey and other game birds.

Yep. I passed up a chance to hunt them in the west Maui mountains when I was there this spring and am kicking myself. Definitely some interesting hunting opportunities and beautiful country there!

Ya, ditto that......got to be in some good shape to trek through the West Maui mountains.....But it would be well worth it.
