for those using qad ultra rest, i have a ???
 

i put the 'Hunter" series on my 2005 Parker Hunter Mag 31" and about 68#. On occasion my vane will hit the rest??do you think it is defective or could it be something in how i set it up??

Are you sure it's hitting the rest? Could it be hitting your cable.

Reason I ask.....my '07 Allegiance has never had a problem with vane contact with the rest. It's hit the cables, until re-oriented the cock vane when I switched arrows.

I used to have trouble with blazer vanes . Then I switched to a smaller vane. Never had trouble since.:DIt's a good rest though.

i checked the cable, it is not that. ...... i am shooting a 4" vane- so they are not as tall as the blazers

when it does happen i can easily tell as the arrow wobbles crazy...i checked the rest and it had a marking on the black portions leading up to the fork..also it started to lift up the phelt that comes to keep the arrow quiet...

could my bow be that fast?? i know i am not shooting that quick and had thought that it was only defective on bows shooting in the 300 fps??

My bow shoots faster than 300fps.

It's not that. My Blazers don't touch my rest.....and I have the QAD, too.

I remember you saying you switched to ACC's are you sure you are still shooting 300 fps? What # and draw length? Not saying you aren't but I know A/C/C's are heavy.

Never chrono'd the a/c/c's, Cougs. I chrono'd it with my 3D setup. I shoot a MUCH heavier hunting arrow.....but I don't much care how fast it is. I know I'm overspined.....heavy....and plenty fast enough to hunt whitetails.

The info. I gave was to show the worst case scenario (so to speak) for the poster. Worst case scenario for me (to possibly have vane contact) would be with my 3D setup.

Does the hunter series lock down after deployment? If not.....your contact could be the prong part bouncing back up.

Yeah Jeff, I wasn't saying that you were wrong, but I know those ACC's are some AWESOME heavy hunting arrows. I know you used to shoot X-Weaves and I have no doubt you were over 300 then, they are some pretty light arrows.


Speaking of overspined, yeterday when I was trying to paper tune, I kept getting an "overspined" left tear. Moving the rest didn't help. I shouldn't be overspined though, I'm shooting a Maxima 250 at 28.5" #60. And a 27 1/8" arrow
