how high
how high do you guys put your tree stands? What are the advantages too it and disadvantages.

RE: how high
You skipped probably the best positions,20'-25'
Too low and you get spotted. Too high and shot angle sucks. 20-25 is a good compromise. Higher also helps with scent. |
RE: how high
again it depends on the terrian!!

RE: how high
I'm usually about 18'.

RE: how high
20-25. any higher is dangerous and makes hunting harder IMO

RE: how high
I agree with both that replyed earlyer , although I picked 25 to 30 I rather be between 20 to 25 but like twildasin said it all depends on the terrian.
I have been up as high as 32 feet but that was year ago and the only good tree to put a stand in was in a deep ravine with ridge's on both sides. Even at that height I was only twenty feet above the ridge and it was just high enough to be above any wind currents. |
RE: how high
I agree with the above, 20-25 would be my pick as well. My lock on set in my honey hole is set at 23' and when I use my climber I usually climb until I feel my bow come off the ground on my 25' rope...depending on terrain and foliage.

RE: how high
I am alway at least 20 feet, most of the time 25. I have a setup where i am a bit over 30 but its a terrain deal.

RE: how high
I'm usually 15'-25'. I don't like heights so any higher than thatand I start to get freaked out. I'd like to know who is hunting at 40'+. Can you even see deer at that height.:D
