What's in your back country pack?
Alright guys, I'm leaving on Wednesday for 12 days in Wyoming to chase some Wapiti around the mountains. I've got everything pretty well put together but I need some help making sure that I've got everything. Here is some of the stuff that I've got to fill my Badlands 2200... please feel free to point out anything I'm missing. Thanks for the help!
-Flashlights & batteries -Knives, bone saw, sharpener -Parachute cord -All-weather lighter -First Aid kit -Daily food -Rain gear & Dry Clothes, warm clothes -Hydration kit & water treatment system -Maps & Compass (and GPS) -Calls -Scent Spray -Flagging Tape -Digital Camera -Range Finder -Bino's -Allen's and BH kit - - - |

If he's making some salad he should probably go ahead and pack a nice light fat freevinaigrette dressing, it would go very well with his bon bons! :D

Buckeye, I assure you there will be no shortage of fresh vegetables on the mountain... and they'll beat the life out of any premium salad I got in Grand Prairie, IL. |
RE: What's in your back country pack?
My headlamp came in real handy when we had to skin and quarter my bull up on the mountain after dark. A hell of alot easier than holding a flashlight in your mouth doing it.
And you might want to invest in a Primos bow sling. It makes climbing around boulders and blowdowns much easier being able to use both hands. Hope this helps, and good luck with getting a monster bull. |
