First Bow Buck, Latest bow buck-Nostalgia
 

Let's see them everyone. This will bring back memories for many of us and help everyone else see where we came from. jmbuck's thread and what some said there prompted this thread and in all the years, I don't remember us doing this. I know we posted first together but the comparison photos will show us "growth".;) Side note: Sorry Mobow but I think this is your year! [8D]

The reason I'm going to love this is photos like GregH's young recurve bow and then last years buck. RESPECT!

Here's my first buck with a bow. If I remember the dates [&:] this should have been back in 1994 or 93....I started bowhunting in 1980 ish.
This buck was taken with a Jennings Carbon Extreme XLR, Bodoodle rest, PSE sights, PSE quiver and 2213 XX75 SuperLites and 100 gr Muzzy's.



And last years buck, Bowtech Allegiance, Trophy Taker Pronghorn, Viper Predator Pro MT sights, Fuse Quiver and stabilizer and Easton ACC's, 100 gr RM Snypers.


And when I think about all the years between then and now I can't fathom where time went not to mention all the changes and animals in between as well.

I don't have any field photos with my first.... But my wife (GF all the way back then:D) and my brother had it mounted for me as a xmas gift.... It was an awfully nice present if I say so myself.

The lil guy all the way to the right. This is the only pic I have of it on the PC.

Great idea...
For me it is hard to believe this will be my 6th year bowhunting, and how much I've learned and experienced already in those 6 seasons. Bowhunting has made me a better hunter in more ways than I even realize.
Took me a season to shoot my first doe.
Then last year I harvested my first buck with the bow. I had many opportunities at smaller bucks before him, but I waiting for a better buck, and to be completely honest... I was due.




I'll edit my post in a few months with this years monster as my latest:D

This is my fisrt bow buck Nov. 9th 1996, my wifes birthday. Shot with a Matthews Z-Light and Muzzy 4 blade 90 gr. heads.



And here is last years opening day in IL buck, Oct. 1. Taken with a Matthews Switchback and Rocket Hammerheads.

This is my first buck and first deer ever with a bow last year killed Oct. 13 3 days after my 3rd daughter was born i bow hunted for about 7 years and then quit for 10 years. Then decided I would pick it back up last year so I borrowed my fathers old1995 modelOnieda Eagle Aero Force and started shooting 2 months before season opened and then took this nice 8 Point it was the most satisfying and rewarding deer I have ever taken.

You're only about 100 miles from me..i'm about 25 miles North of Allentown, and i hunt a lot in the State College Area which isn't that far from you either....why can't i ever find bucks like those [:@].

Rob, i love nostalgia, we have came a long way since those days aint we? I dont have a pic of the first but this one is close. Dont make fun of the camo :DI think 1986 if iremember right. I dont even have a field pic of the most recent but i made a trip to the pole barn for a pic of some on the Dink wall :D

All bow kills except the big one in the middle. Before my wifes grampa passed he gave me this buck bought at a yard sale. it looked like a 1940 mount, i removed the rack and it was partly stuffed with sage grass [&:]142 net. The ones to the left and right of the big one are my most recent. I started trophy hunting since those, they get a free pass these days,I should have three p&y since then, i got bit by buck fever and did not seal the deal [&o]but have killed three great bucks by lead poisining :eek:since then. Last season i only hunted with fire arm several times before going back to the bow, this season its all bow ;)

Dan, I wouldn't make fun of that camo.....I personally think the original Realtree pattern, even now, is one of the very best there is....

LOL Bob, [8D] I have to tend to agree with my gorgeous wife who has been a professional hair dresser for going on 15 years, she said she fell in love with me when she was a teenager and I in my 20's and she said I never sported a mullet....the hair under the hat wasn't that short....;) :D But I could care less, it's all in fun and it sure got me the honeys back then. :) :D ;)

Keep the before and after pictures coming fella's. I'm sure some more of you have them...

The first deer with my bow was my only buck killed with a bow...a spike. Shot does ever since. I didnt even get a picture and my mom thew the horns away, but that was a long time ago.

Great pictures guys.. This stinks for me ..I didnt start taking photos of deer/elk or anything for that matteruntil the late 90's, pretty much when I started coming online.....I had already shot my first bow buck, bullelk, and bear.. no pix to show... wish I had them now.. [:@]
