Broadhead Dillemma
 

Alright bow guys Here is the guestion I have a box of NAP Thunderhead 100s, Pack of Muzzy 4 blade 100s, and a pack of Muzzy 125 3 blades. I have been shootin 100 grain field points. And my buddy gave me the pack of brand new muzzy 125s and was thinkin of shootin them. What would be t biggest difference in my arrow flight or speed or whatever. I wanted to shoot slick tricks or Rage 2 blades this year but runnin short on cash considering I just bought a new bow this year. Appreciate all the info I can get guys thanks

Well I would say if you go to the 125 grain from 100 grain you will be shooting a little low. As you will be adding weight!

The 125s will change your FOC, cause a loss of a few FPS but a gain in KE. If I remember correctly. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. [8D]

Great choices, man. I would shoot them all and see which one I liked the best. Then you can buy one more pack to have six. Then you'll know you made the right choice without having to spend a lot to find out. You'll sleep better at night, which will make you a better hunter in the morning;).

I had another paragraph written, but I went back and looked at your signature. Based on personal experience, I can tell you that your GT 5575's don't have a stiff enough spine for a 125 grain broadhead.
I started shooting GT 5575's with a 100 grain tip at 70#, 29.5" draw. At 70#, the 5575's were borderline underspined even with a 100 grain tip. I figured this out when I tried shooting fixed blade broadheads for the first time. The arrow flexed too much and made it impossible for me to get close to a decent group.
I switched from 100 grains to 125 grains and switched from GT 5575's (.400 spine) to 7595's in Hardwoods HD (.300 spine). I went from a 400 grain total weight arrow to what is now a 500 grain total weight arrow. I did lose around 30 fps, but gained a little kinetic energy. Even after upping my total weight 100 grains, I didn't have to make any sight adjustments at 20 yards or less. 30 yards required a slight adjustment, and 40 yards and out needed a little more. Another big plus..... the extra weight also quiets your bow considerably on the shot.
Since you're shooting 67# and your arrows are more than an inch shorter than mine were, you're spined okay for a 100 grain head, but if you want to shoot 125 grains, you're probably going to need new arrows.

Slightly wrong, the loss in speed because of the gain in weight will offset each other and the KE will remain the same but it's irrelevant.

The gain in FOC is the greater reward and the difference in 25 grains is insignificant...yoru point of impact will remain within an inch or so...a slight adjustment and your good to go.
