I wish I could shoot that good.

Some of those people think thats the greatest shot in the world because he nailed him in the head. Sounds like a kid to me.

Personally when it comes to hogs ive seen what they can do to land and to a person. Kill em all. I have no use for them, kill them any manner you wish a dead pig is a good pig as long as its in the frying pan! Great pig man.

I don't agree with taking a head shot with a bow, don't see it as being ethical or respectful to the animal. No matter what the circumstances are if you say what you believe than there is no need to apologize.

RE: Unethical shot and won't even admit it!

I have been thinking about this. The owner of my lease wants hogs killed. He doesn't care how. Some of you may not understand this but I liken hogs to rats. They are vermin. How many of you are concerned about the suffering a rat goes through when it eats the poison you put out for it?
Hogs are fun to hunt. I enjoy it almost as much as I enjoy deer hunting, however I put the animals in very distinct and different catagories. I liken killing hogs to killing rats. Dead is dead and that is all that matters. I understand that I'm opening myself up to criticism. Thats OK. I just want you to understand how some people feel about feral hogs. They are not a noble game animal in the minds of many.
I would much prefer a shot at heart/lungs, however if a head shot is all that is offered I will take it.
How many of you that condemn this have experience with hogs?
Critr-Gitr, your opinion is yours and I respect how you feel. I hope people may understand better how I feel whether or not my opinion is respected.

He admits in the thread that he was indeed shooting for the head. Inexperience as a bowhunter, plain and simple.
I would have to disagree with the generalizationor correlation ofinexperienced bowhunters and headshots. If you disagree, take a look at Rick Welch's second video.

Not saying I am for or against the shot, I really do not have an opinion either way.

Here is a pretty neet video to take a look at though (watch the whole thing):
