I like modern for the simple reason your kill rate is better with more arrow speed and sights and the like I feel that more deer are killed and retrievced than with traditional bows.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I think most of us who hang in this forum are compound users. Not all, but most. They have a seperate forum for those other guys.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just like jamming a fast car into 3rd gear, dumping the clutch, and drilling the gas at 90mph, pulling the full weight of a longbow's bowstring back on your fingers gives you that same sense of &quot;Yeahhhhh!&quot; that automatics just can't provide. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> As to kills/recoveries, I've actually been more effective with stickbows than I was with compounds. It's all about choosing your shots wisely. Stickbows &quot;can&quot; even be used with sights for those not comfortable without, such as this selfbow equipped with a built-in peep sight. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I prefer shooting a recurve, I have lots less target panic problems and it feels so much more natural to shoot. But every deer I have ever killed was with compounds. It is just so much easier to drag a compound through the woods, recurves get caught on everything. And shooting from a stand is very hard with a 62&quot; bow. And the whole range advatage thing. When I go hunting, my first priority is to be successfull. After I have meat in the freezer, I swich to my recurve for the end of bow season and through muzzleloader season.

I shoot traditional.It's alot more fun,I'm alot more successful and there's alot more things I don't have to worry about going wrong.

I haven't even got modern down yet. Please don't tempt me with Trad.! I'll really go nuts trying to figure it all out! LOL

I like Modern. Havent really tried anything else though.
