Here is the breakdown for NY:
Super Sportsman: All hunting/fishing/bow/muzz $68
Sportsman: Hunting/fishing$37
Bowhunting:$16
Muzzleloading:$16

I bought the lifetime sportsman and archery license some time back for $625. Since that time it has increased to $780. I figure that my initial investment has already paid for itself! If your state offers the lifetime license for children, I recommend that you take advantage of it. The cost of hunting and fishing privledges is only going to increase in the future.

ORIGINAL: JeramyK

$20 for a resident hunting license
$16 for a resident archery stamp
$6 for each antlerless tag
$16 for resident bear
$25 for resident elk
For this cost, I think it's the best deal going. Actually, for all of the enjoyment and excitement you get during an entire season, that's a small price to pay! JMO

I bought a Louisana lifetime license that covers everything for $300. It pays for itself in 5 years. If you have kids under the age of 4, you can buy a lifetime license for them for $200. It really pays off and once you buy you never have to worry about buying licenses again. I love it.

I had never heard of a life time hunting license. Well guess what? Washington now has one but it is different. You pay only $6.50 for your name to be put into four lottory drawing during the year. That is all it costs. If your name is drawn then you can choose fish and/or game license for the rest of your life for free (except for the $6.50 entrance fee). Not bad. You can also gift the remaining over to a friend or loved one if you get tired of hunting. I guess I will have to start putting my name in the hat next year.

License Types Resident Non-Resident

Deer+Elk+Bear+Cougar $72.27
Non-Resident $722.70

Deer+Elk $61.32
Non-Resident $613.20

Deer+Bear+Cougar $50.37
Non-Resident $503.70

Elk+Bear+Cougar $50.37
Non-Resident $503.70

Deer $39.42
Non-Resident $394.20

Elk $39.42
Non-Resident $394.20

Bear+Cougar $21.90
Non-Resident $219.00

Second Bear $10.95
Non-Resident $109.50

Second Cougar $10.95
Non-Resident $109.50

Multiple Season Tag - Deer $164.25
Non-Resident $1,642.50

Multiple Season Tag - Elk $164.25
Non-Resident $1,642.50

This year it went up $8 in Alabama. Now it is $24 for resident hunting. This includes all hunting. They leasened our buck harvest this year, so we get 3 antlered, one of which has to have 4 points on one side. In addition, we can kill one antlerless per day.

Michigan-$30.00 for combo tags=2 bucks. You can use them both during bow or split them up or both with gun. You can also take a doe during bow with one. Doe tags are $10.00 ea 3 max. Next year they may go up to $75.00 for a combo and $30.00 for a doe tag. We dont know yet what they are going to do.
