BIG buck PICS!!!!

Hey guys,

My buddy stopped by tonight, he went to check out one of our Moultrie game cameras we had set out and he was going to get rid of all the remaining corn from the pile we had in front of the camera. Well, he got there and the corn was entirely gone and our camera had over 500 pictures on it. He brought the card here and we plugged it in and started going through the pics. A few hundred pictures of the same doe with 3 fawns and a mother raccoon with 5 babies and then a few small bucks started showing up which eventually led to these.........

We have been scouting these two big bucks (they are different, one has a split G-2 while the other doesn't) for a long time now. We believe they are "brothers" as there antlers are very similar besides the split G-2 on the smaller of them. We got one picture of one of these big guys a long time ago but they just avoided the cameras until this week. We have probablly 70 pictures of them and I think we found the two that we are aiming for this fall.;)

Very impressive BM but I have one question....

For years you've been showing us some tremendous bucks, when are you going to show us a picture with you smilin behind one of them and your bow laid across it's chest? ;) :D [8D] Maybe this is your year, good luck.

On a side note BM: Don't forget, 30 days prior to the opener that "bait" needs to be gone....notice the time too, don't bust them sneaking in in the mornings.

Thanks guys,

Rob, I know, thats why he was headed in there, to get the rest of the corn out of the area. We aren't planning on hunting this area till atleast the 3rd week of October, thats when our journals have shown the biggest/most buck movement so we have the 1 month period covered before hunting this area. As far as pics of the big bucks year in and year out, I havn't got a bunch this year so hopefully that is just a sign that I am gonna put one of these bruisers down :D

Bout time :D
Your telling me Scott :D I am moving a Cuddeback into that area sometime this week in hopes of getting some better quality pictures of these bucks. Tonight Brad moved one camera to the field edge opposite to these woods, probably 500 yards away and he said that he saw a good 130" class buck in that area.

Anybody got any guesses on what the 10 point in the 3rd picture will score? He appears to be an older buck, look at the sag in his stomach!

BM 140's pushing 150 maybe....but I'm more interested in that half rack...lmao.[8D]

RE: BIG buck PICS!!!!

Haha, I knew you would like him Rob, he is right up your alley!! Look at the brow tine on that guy!!!!!!!!

Also, you would love the area this picture came from, it is the perfect funnel. The woods are probablly 120 yards wide at tops, to the right of the camera about 30 yards is a stream bottom, to the left of the camera about 40 yards is the wood line where it meets up with a cattle pasture. On the opposite side of the creek is a very steep hillside with a corn field at the top of it. Straight behind the camera about 80 yards is a corn field and alfalfa field and as you look at the pictures, the bedding area is back behind the deer (a bunch of old blow downs). The deer seem to travel from the bedding area, throughthis area and make it out to the corn/alfalfa. We are saving it for the end of the pre-rut as it is probablly our best spot so far!

Thanks everybody, I'll keep everybody updated on him over the next few weeks, the smaller bucks have shed their velvet for the most part so the big guys should start soon.

Yeah that was me and I have no idea. I know that he made it through season last year but the property he was in last year is now planted in corn instead of soybeans so I havn't been able to scout it out nearly as well as I was last year (95% of the brush he stayed in is surrounded by 10 foot high corn). I am still trying to find him and if I do I will be sure to post some pictures!

I thought about that, some pictures he looks like a 3.5 year old and some pics he looks more like 4.5 years old. Either way it wouldn't hurt for him to have another but I don't think I would let him walk by ;)

Very nice BM. Always puts a smile on my face to see some dandy PA bucks. Good luck this season. Hope to be reading about the success story in the near future. ;)

BTW, that half rack buck is intriguing to me. I don't know that I'd pass on a shot. :)

He does have a good belly sag in one of the picturesso I would probably agree on age,but there isn't a good side profile shot of him (It's hard to see a real defined front shoulder and the neck looks slim).I would retract the statement of that he is young but would say he is a younger buck. He is nice though. He would beREAL HARD to let go another year... especiallyif you have a small parcelland and no adjoining neighbors in collaborating efforts of a management plan.

You'd better not let him walk by. Our team will need those inches.;)

TexasOaks, you have to understand too that in PA 3.5 is a good age for deer. With ARs we see more of them, but there are not many 4.5 year old plus deer running around still. Hopefully, that will change, but they've got a million hunters to avoid to get there.
