Low deer density
 

How would you guys go about scouting low deer density areas that have very little sign. I know there are good deer in the area. I have seen the tracks. I just cannot find any defined runs. I did find one area that has A run and there is a scrape. I have had my cam on it for two weeks now and will check it tomorrow. What else would you guys look for??

I really wouldnt know what else to look for but just keep movin that camera around on places that look good to you.

Look for any fences that are low or have a low lieing ditch running under it when the deer are crossing it,you can check for any hair on it.Anotherthing to check for any deer would be an early morning dew or frost,you can see where the deer have been crossing in the grass.If there is any fields that have been plowed and disc up you can check for tracks there too.It can be pretty tough looking for any trails through the woods where the deer have it worn down if there are not very many deers using it but if you look by the creek banks you can see where the deer having been crossing up and down.

I just got pictures of him on the run with the scrape. I made a mock scrape today and put my cam on it. I also hung 2 stands and I will observe and make changes as necc.

Funnels, travel corridors, bedding and food in that order. Put that puzzle together and you are that much further ahead in scoring on that fine buck! Good luck
