I got my first (non-toy) bow, a bear recurve, when I was 11 or 12. My first new compound, a PSE Spirit, came two years later at 13 or 14 - and I've been bowhunting deer ever since. 28 now, so that's 14 season in the tree stand.

Started going deer hunting when I was 8 years old. But started shooting muchyounger then that.Had an old Bear recurve. My dad had a ladder stand set up by camp that I would walk to whenever I got up. Never had any deer come by. Back in those days though if you seen a deer you had a great day in the field. When I was about 11 I received my first compound from Pearson Archery. It was a youth compound prototype they made for me to use. The next season I got my first shot at a doe. Missed her 5 times under 20 yards. Then had to just sit and watch her because I was out of arrows..LOL.I was hooked after that. Been doing it for 30 years as well as many 3D tournaments.
