shooting through a chronograph

How many people out there have actually shot their arrows through one and know truly what their arrow speed is and how many are just guessing?

I do. I have my own chrono. Tinker, tinker, tinker. Make a change on the bow and see what happens. Change something else and try again. It's a never ending process of seeing what does what.

I use one. I'm shooting 276 fps with my Switchback. Not to fast but not slow either. Just right for me.

I was going to shoot through one at the place in town here, but they couldn't figure it out.

They are dog cheap. YOu can get a shootin chrony for like 90 dollars these days. I have an F1. And shoot thru it regularly. Everytime I bring it out, archers get mad.:D

I was shooting 285 last year consistently. I have not shot through one this year with new strings and changing to Carbon Express. It feels a bit slower but, hitting the mark!

Is that a standard price for a chrony? I saw the title of this thread and was about to ask how much one costs. Wonder if I can get one here in time before the opener on the 15th. Wait, I'm sure it will be about 100 degrees and 95% humidity like every other Maryland opener the last several years. ;)

I've shot through one a couple of times at a local pro shop.

Shooting about 244, but only pulling 53 lbs...

I own my own as well. I have it here at the house plus arrow saw, two presses, string making jig, fletching jig, bow weight scale, lazer tuner, levels, clamps, grain scale, tools and everything else you can find in a pro shop...:D
