Hanging lock on stands.
I ran across this pully system from Pine Ridge Archery.
Something like this couldhelphunters that hang lock-on-stands alone. Its a neat little idea that could be very helpfull. You could even make one yourself with little cost. http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=2555/101.1.0.0.0.0.0 |

RE: Hanging lock on stands.
I got one of those from HNIJustin when I was at the HNI Get Together back in June of this year.
Can't wait to try it when I hang my stands September 1st , I'll let you all know how it worked out. Thanks Justin for such an awesome gift. :) |
RE: Hanging lock on stands.
LOL..Silly Me!
All this time I've just used a cheap screwin step, pull the rope over that, and hang the stand temporarily on the step until I get the straps tight enough to hold it in place;) |
RE: Hanging lock on stands.
That would be pretty easy to make yourself, you can get a pulley like that at the hardware store and just make up a small bracket and get a rachet strap.

RE: Hanging lock on stands.
IN outdoor life they had an idea of using a limb as a pulley. I done it and it works well. i have to use a harness hangin stands. I hate heights.

RE: Hanging lock on stands.
Most deer hoist pulleys have a locking feature that will hold a hang on in place so that you can secure the stand, and most of us have a deer hoist. Just add a ratchet or cam lock strap, which you probably also have, with a ring to hang the hoist from.

RE: Hanging lock on stands.
I always attach mytow rope (usually parachute cord, cheap and tough)to my stand while its laying on the ground. Ithen climb the ladder system or screw in steps I have put on the tree. Next I place my safetybelt on while at the top of the steps...then Ipull the stand up by the bow rope. I can hang hands free with the safety belt.I carry a bungy cord in my pocketto hang the stand temporarily and get it just where I want it. Then I attach the ratchet strap or factory strap. Remove the bungy...These days I always add an insurance strap in the form of a locking cable and or another ratchet.
