Maybe you should post a link to their web site, a pic of the head, orsomething resembling a name or anything else that we may be able to go off of.

Oh .... I should have known  Those must be the broadheads that team's 6 , 19 and 40 are using , since they claim to be quiet arrow , silent but deadly and silent entry. ;)

lmao, I'm interested in that head. Seems like it would do well for turkeys as they'd never see it coming. Well, it'd look like a tipless arrow. It would be perfect with this arrow I have here pictured below.

And the bow I use pictured below this.

And here is a picture of my new camo:

And this is my groundblind:

And this is my treestand:

Notice how I match up everything:

Looks like a Guilletine head used for turkeys with a ring around it.

b_m 101...

It's nothing more than a fix blade broadhead with a mechanical behind it. Flight should (should) be no different than any other fix blade head however, that huge mechanical will eat up a pile of KE to expand. Not sure how that thing would do in penetration, seems to me in theory, it would stop on bone etc...

Don't you think a 60-70lb bow has plenty of KE to make it through even with all that drag. Where is Five Shot?

A co-worker of mine was talking a couple a days ago about a mechanical similar to this that he used a couple years ago, said penetration sucked on it. Don't know what type of bow/arrow etc he was shooting.

its a rocket buck blaster or something like that

bigbulls 08-28-2007 12:53 PM

RE: Has anyone actually used this head?

I honestly don't know why heads like this even exist. By combining a large fixed blade with a large mechanical in one head, the two styles of heads are meerly negating the benefits of using either one by itself.

A mechanical was invented because of bad arrow flight from large fixed blade heads at high speed. But then you add a large fixed blade head and put wings on the front on a looooooooong furrel so any inconsistancies in the furrel are only magnafied by its length?

Generally speaking a fixed blade head will out penetrate a mechanical but they add huge mechanical behind it to usu up KE and momentum deploying blades?

I don't get it.

i think i'd use one on turkeys, but thats about it.

my buddy shot a doe with that head a few years ago. He shoots 60lbs with a 29" XX78 2216. Penetration was horrible. Maybe 4" of penetration behind the shoulder. I had to circle around and finish her off at 40 yards with a Muzzy. His broadhead was trashed. He went back to shooting thunderheads and no problems since...

RE: Has anyone actually used this head?

i posted about that head last year...i didnt want to use it...just curious if anyone else did. think the cut was like 2 3/4" or something pretty hugh. i dont see expandable blades that long making it through a deer.

think a couple people used them or knew people that did and some swore by them...definently not my cup of tea...though a 3" cut would be pretty nice to have....but then your looking at penetration problems....till about 5 years from now when our bows are doin 400+ fps;)

RD,

Why are you giving away our secret? Now, everybody is going to want to use these heads after we win this year.
