RE: Mechanicals

Yeah the piston point broadheads seem to be wicked, too. I am tempted to try them out this year.

RE: Mechanicals

I voted Rage 2 blade because my first choice is not on the board as far as mechanicals and that would be the RM Snyper, same head.

[X]FIXED

I shoot fixed as well and here is why. It isn't hard at all to align fixed blade broad heads. Once that is done you can get some amazing pin point accuracy. With fixed blade there is little to go wrong with them. Same thing with extreme hunters and their rifle of choice. 99.9% would choose a bolt action because of the minimal moving parts to break down in opposed to say a semi auto. And when it comes down to the shot, you don't want anything to go wrong. With fixed I am like this, with a mechanical there is that chance factor that I don't want to chance.

Can't vote, shoot fixed. I personally don't trust mechanical broadheads.

Why shoot a mechanical?

DRENAL1NDAWG 08-28-2007 04:01 PM

RE: Mechanicals

Why not shoot a mechanical (not an argument, just a question)? There is much skepticisim and debate about mechanicals in the bowhunting world. As with any advancments with techonolgoy and bowhunting equipment, there will always some level of error that can occur.

I am by far from an expert on this subject, but it seems to me that some of the most devistating broadheads on the markets are mechanicals. Most articles and prohunters provide more hear good news than bad. Overall, it is about ethical shot placement and most any broadhead will do what it is designed for, harvest the animal.

This will be my first year using mechanicals.
