I look at this way as well.

The data is incomplete because hunters refuse to participate. It's skewed to areas that "participate".

I'll enter every animal I take that qualifies to add to the data. It has nothing to do with chest thumping or seeing my name in type....I can see that many other places. Even with my animal in the books, I doubt I join or buy the book, I'm entering data.

If you think my entering data is the right thing to do as an ethical, responsible hunter.....I trust your judgement.

I honestly am more turned off to the prospects of ever measuring a deer, right now.....I don't know if I will, or not.

While we're on that subject......if it's simply "data" they're after......why don't they post a tutorial on how to properly measure a deer's rack.....and leave it up to the hunter? Why the need for the "official" scorer.....if it's only for the data? What POSSIBLY could matter over 3-5 inches in a deer's overall measurement (data -ly speaking)?

I was afraid to enter mine for the fear that everyone would flock to Idaho like IOWA! LMAO ... :Djk of course..

I am feel like if I kill a top 5% buck in my state I'd enter him for his sake..not mine.. I do that in my state records and they only accept official b/c- p/y scores forthose records.

As for theactualPY book....i'd have to kill a state record to even find myself on the massive list..
