IM SICK!!!

After ten years of shooting a Bear Whitetail two I finally purchased a new bow this weekend. A Fred Bear Instinct. I was pulling it back tonight after installing a wrist strap and I DRY FIRED it!!! I went completely numb and I still am!! I worked so hard to get this bow!! Is it completely ruined!! All that I noticed is that it stripped a little bit on the cam where I think you adjust the draw!! Please tell me it is not ruined!!!!

Take it to a shop to make sure you didn't crack or harm the limbs in any way.

It might be OK. The string on my mathews broke, not sure why, at full draw with no arrow on the string. I took it in and had it checked over and thankfully, it was fine.

Man I hope it is ok! I didn't have it completely pulled back though. But it did throw off one of the limb saver string attachments.

Take it to the shop and let them tear it down. At the worst you're probably looking at some cam damage/replacement, axles etc etc.

Those fly off shortly anyway! Most modern bow will stand a dry fire without much harm. Take the advice and have a pro check it over. Look at the cam axles as they get bent slightly on a dry fire most of the time. Look for cracks in the limbs or frayed strings and cables also. Most if not all of us have done it once in our lifetime.

I would be sick to! Get it checked out like the others above said, better safe than sorry!
