Moultrie Gamespy 4 Megapixels

Does anyone here use this cam? Just bought one today and just curious if anyone has an opinion on them. I'm sure there are better ones made, but I'll be lucky if I make it until the end of season without it getting stolen so I didn't wanna spend a lot.

I have a couple of the Moultrie Game Spy 4.0 Megapixel Digital cameras and am pretty happy with them (I know that it's a little different model). I set them to the low quality and shoot 3 consecutive shots with a 'wait' time of 1 minute. Battery life is pretty good as well - somewhere around a month - maybe longer, depends on how many pics are being taken.

I have the Moultrie 4.1 and the 2 cheap nylon bungie straps are a joke :eek:I made a small shelf/platform to put under the camerahousings bottom tohold the camera up and I used the small plastic covered metal cables off another camera I bought and the lock to keep it from being stolen. My camera has a slow shutter speed and I'm not as thrilled with it as I thought I would be.....the newer Moultries are suppose to have a quicker shutter speed and the nicer ones have infared capabilities.

You can buy a charger to charge up the 6-volt battery and you can also buy the solar powered charger to help keep it charged up out in the field. It is supposed to extend the life of the batteries while in use in the woods. At leastyou can use re-chargable batteries in it and some of them have the larger rectangle battery with the springs on top, others like mine have the smaller square battery with the 2 small male-prongs and others have the 9-volt batteries.

My father Inlaw just bought the Moultrie game watcher 4.0. Has a laser light to help line up shot. Just playing around with it trying to figure it all out. Pics were ok, some of the pics of us we took outside seem to be really light. We haven't put it out yet or tried a pic with the flash, hopefully tomorrow. I think his has 16MB built it the camera.I think he paid $99.00 for it. Are all the sd cards the same or do you need to buy one that will work in this Game watcher? I took a card out of his kodak camera and it seem not to funtion properly....until I took it back out. Just was curious!

Same camera I'm talking about. I just put mine out tonight. I took the Scan Disk card out of my regular camera and it worked fine

I used a regular 1.0 GB SD (San Disk) from Wal-Mart,it was the best one for about $22.00 + tax,the other SD like the 156 MB will cost a little less....I set the camera on high resolution for the best quality pictures. The flash is very bright on the camera and the eyes BUG OUT on some of the pictures. There are so many different features on the camera that it takes a while to read up and learn all of them, picture quality is ok...not the best for what I expected. My cheaper and older Moultrie 35 mm trail camera took much better and quicker shutter speedpictures but all the batteries cost me a fortune.:(

I have 2 of them on my property in WV right now. I am anxiously awaiting a trip back to check them. The straps that came with for mounting were a total joke though. The first thing after opening them up was to toss those in the trash. I ended up removing the camera and drilling a few screws through the back of the housing andinto the tree. Camera still fit inside fine.
