well why did u start bowhunting again after 30 years?
I guess I stopped because "life" got in the way... college and the Marine Corps. Got rid of the old recurve years and years ago. Back now because my son is starting in on archery, and many of the land owners around here (northern VA) will only let you hunt if it is bowhunting. So I'm buying a modern compound to compliment my son's recurve.

RE: Another new guy

I'm in the process of purchasing the new outfit. I've been to two pro-shops in the area and testfired several bows. A few I could tell right away I didn't like, and a couple of others that -- so far -- seem about the same.

I know that it's hard to go wrong with any of these choices, but I'd appreciate any advice on the final contenders:

PSE Vengeance
Parker Trailblazer XP
Diamond Justice
PSE Brute

My concern is that - at this point - I won't notice something that might be bugging a more experience shooter.

I know everyone has a favorite brand and model, but I'd appreciate any comments or advice.

Vulture6,
You're about my age. I was guessing that at our age, we've figured out that gun season only lasts a week or two, but bow hunting gets us out of the house for up to three months!:D:D:D
Welcome to the forums! You'll like it here.
