I usually try to keep myself as still as possible. I try to make it a game to see how long I can go without moving any part of my body. It is also fun to move as slow as possible when I do move. When I don't move for long periods of time I feel like parts of my body have shut down and there is nothing left to do but let my mind wander. It's kind of like treestand meditation.

I usually hunt when I am on stand. To hell with all that other crap.

It is hard enough to spot a deer when you are paying attention. How do you expect to see one while you are playing games or reading a book? I might eat a snack but other than that I am looking for deer!

Jm.... my thing with the playing games is I usually know about when deer will be moving through and I got EARS, but other then that i always have loved that surprise when a deer does get to you without seeing or hearing it come! To me that is one of the most pumped situations you will find yourself in whether it be a buck or doe. Element of surprise!

I don't think this could have been said any better! That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. When I bowhunt in Alberta, Isit all day (12hrs), every day,the whole week or until I kill a buck. It's too expensive to hunt any other way.Plus, I want to kill a buck, and that gives me my best chance.I break my day up into 3 four hour hunts, It's a mind thing. The only reason I'll get up is to streach, and or take a leak.

Soooo then why don't you just get there 5 minutes before they get there and you won't have to sit all day.

My deer move when they want to, not when I wish they would.
