bow hunting wisconsin

My initial plan was to head to Wisconsin (vernon co.) and hunt Nov. 1-4, however due to military training I have had to reschedule my trip and will be hunting Oct. 24-28. Ive only Gun hunted Wisconsin in late November and have done some late season bowhunting. So i was curious as to what to expect around the end of October.

In that part of the state the rut should be just starting to kick in. That is one of the best times to be in the woods. If i were you i would try rattling, and grunting.

Good Luck

I agree with the rattling and grunting tactic. If you believe in moon phases it should be an early rut this year, so they should be chasing pretty hard at that time, especially if the weather's right.

2nd full moon of the fall is near the end of Oct so you should be all set with buck activity.

Best time to hunt in my book. Rattle, rattle, and then rattle some more.
