RE: Guys who've taken turkeys with your bows

Ive taken 2 with my bow, both in the fall. I was deer hunting both times.

Turkey huntings for spring time, Deer huntings for the fall. But whenever those turkeys come by close enough, in the fall,Im gonna take one ;)

GMMAT I'm not trying to thread jack but I was wondering for those of you who have killed turkeys with a bow did you use a broad-head to the vitals or a gilotine or however you spell it?
Thanks guys!
:)
Rocky Mountain Snypers put them both down in sight. First one went maybe 20 yards on film for River Valley Game Calls HeadHeadhunters vol IV and the second on film went 30 yards, first pinning him to the ground then ran, heart shot....it was cool. I can't wait for the DVD to come out.

I hunted 25 times for my only Spring bow bird. Hardest hunting I've ever done.

I don't mean to diminish what anyone else has done......but if I could shoot them from my treestand.....in the Fall......I'd kill as many as the state of NC would let me, each season.

We don't have a Fall turkey season in my county......due to (gulp.....)....a lack of birds in my county (according the NCWRC).

Mitch (son) and I were hunting on Thanksgiving day in '05......and we watched a group of hens enter our set......then a group of jakes.....then a group of gobblers. When they all gathered together........I counted 65. I can't wait til our pop. gets sufficient for us to be able to take one or two in the Fall:eek:.

My '07 Spring turkey was taken at 30 yds with a rocket mech.

I'm 1 for 5 on turkeys with a bow. I was hunting in the fall for turkeys out of a ground blind. I used a Gator XP mechanical on mine.

I've shot three turkeys with a bow during turkey season. In Alabama, we don't have a fall turkey season. All three were killed with mechanical broadheads.

I have killed six with a bow total. Of those, three were in the spring specifically hunting for turkeys, three were in the fall and killed while deer hunting. I have used both mechanicals and fixed, I prefer mechanicals. The three I killed during the spring seasons, I killed without a ground blind. What a rush!
