i am still waiting but plan to end that waiting this year as i have found a great place to hunt and like the last three years i will not be moving in the middle or begining of the season

I didn't take a shot until my 4th season hunting with a rifle when I finally took a doe at 25 yards. Afternoon of opening day, my first year bowhunting, I connected with asmall fork at 20 yards.

My first season I killed an8" spikeon one side and 3 point on the other. I trailed it and couldn't find it so I left and came back the next morning. I found it. One of the rear legs was eaten off by a coyote. He is on my wall, now. In 1991. I will never forget it.

I assume we are talking bow hunting only.....
Took me about 2 hours.
I was hunting a target rich environment... had a caretaker put me right on a herd of does... one was dumb enough to hold still while I fumbled around... shot over her the first time... spined her the second... and put a coup de gras through her ribs on the third... I was floored....
My first four bow hunts yeilded the same results.... two more does and a hog. No more spine shots... but I did miss the hog on the first try... my second shot was perfect!
I was 5 when I shot at my first deer, missed cleanly. Hit a deer and lost it opening day of the next season.... and killed one three days later. I was a whopping 6 years old.... big old doe... dead at 15 yards from the 20ga!
