Started in mid-Oct. of '05 without even a clue. I took a shot on closing day.....one I know, now, I shouldn't have attempted. Clean miss.

started shotgun deer hunting age 10, shot a doe with shotgun first year and only been skunked once since then. started bow hunting same year and shot one, no recovery. then got my first bow kill, an eight pt. last year. so somewhere between 7-10 yrs. I didnt bowhunt every year since age 10, but most years. I am now 23.

I started hunting in 78' got my first a button buck with the gun. The first with the bow came the following season a spike, missed him once and he circled around to give me another chance.
I didn't miss the second time.

It took me less than a year for my first deer with the gun, a button buck. The following year I harvested my first three deer with a bow. Last year I harvested nine deer with the bow.

I am still waiting on a bow kill...lost count of gun kills.
I did wound 1 doe with my bow though...she was standing perfectly broadside at 25 or so yards, shot the arroow...then all of a sudden the arrow took a sharp left and cut her belly open...never did find her. They arrow must have hit a cut cornstalk that i did not see.

THE FIRST YEAR I WAS BOW HUNTING I SHOT A BUTTON BUCK ON
OCT 29th 1997 the following year i shot my first racked buck (8 point) on Oct 07, 1998
GUN SEASON WELL THAT IS A DIFFERENT STORY LETS SEE I THINK I STARTED IN 1980. I HUNTEDFORFOUR YEARS AND THEN WENT INTO THE AIRFORCE AND LOST INTEREST AND STARTED BACK UP IN 1992 WHEN I SHOT MY FIRST DEER EVER 4 POINTAPPROX 50 YARDS WITH A 30/30 WINCHESTER.
I HAVEN'T STOPPED SINCE

I shot my first deer my first night out ever hunting!!(Doe).. now if thats not luck the following year I did the same thing on a 6 pt. Am I possibly going for the hat trick this year?.. I HOPE
