Well i put some bough branches in the bottom, then put my clothes in, then some on top and on the sides. the reason why i use bough branches is cause i hunt in the pines and stuff like that. But when i take my clothes out they dont smell like rubber...

I've been using a Rubbermaid type container for about 5 years now.I also line the bottom with spruce brows, and put a couple of earth scent wafers inside.I try to keep it outof the sun.If I'm hunting I try to keep my truck parked in the a shady area.I also lined the lip of the lid with some weather stripping to keep it as airtight as possible.

wash it out real good when you get it, I place some hay in the bottom and throw in a few fresh earth wafers

I have used Rubbermaid containers for years as well. I throw in a couple of earth scent dryer sheets, so it smells of fresh dirt every time I open the lid.

Yea, as long you put some earthly scents in there. I try to use stuff from the area where i hunt so i can already smell like the area im goin to hunt.

I USE THE RUBBERMAID CONTAINERS. I HUNT MOSTLY FROM PINES SO I PUT NEDDLES, BRANCHES IN THEM JUST BEFORE AND THRU SEASON.

yeah that seems to be what every1 does do u seal it off?

gplant 08-21-2007 01:57 PM

RE: Rubbermaid Containers

Yes I always keep it sealed up. But Im in and out of it all the time during season.(I got 4)I also change the neddles and branches about every 2 weeks so the scent is strong. I kind of grind them up a bit put them on the bottom.Put some chesse like cloth over that then my stuff on top.I also keep a pair of gloves just for climbing with to keep the sap off my hands(ever try to draw with sticky hands-not good)and hang the gloves buy mein stand because they smell like pine big time.

so use nature as a cover scent apposed to technolgy as a elimination methodleads to better sucsess.

i'd say cover scent but use some eliminating measures, like showers, bade layers, etc. Also use some scent eliminating products occasionally on the outer layer and boots so you dont give off scent when you brush up against stuff.

Ijust leave all my hunting clothes sit out on the deck all season. Then i dont have to worry about the smell.

Ive been using them for years, I place fresh earth scent wafers in the bottom, the middle and the top, this way the fresh earth scent covers all the clothes in the box. Works great and keeps them smelling like dirt all year round.

I do the same with Fresh Earth discs I have left over from the previous season, they really stink up the container and contents.
