not that much though only a couple of apples off our apple tree...just to get them to stop in a shooting lane...not massive piles of bait

Not legal in New York. I don't physically put bait out butI sure hunt next to standing corn, soybeans and apples as much as I can. Since they are planted as agricultural crops it is not considered baiting according to The New York dept of conservation

If you call bean fields, crab apple trees ,or acorns bait then yes, other wise,no.

It is legal in Ky and I have in the past but not in a long time.

It is legal here but it won't help where I hunt; too many apples, soy, and corn around. I don't bother.

RE: Do you Hunt over Bait?

I do it to help the deer out after winter. I started my feeder in late February. The deer hit it good in late winter and early spring. But I am surrounded by corn fields and beans so come fall it has no effect, they have all the fresh food they want around them. I would say my area is 75% fields and 25% woods. I only baited in the fall the first year two seasons ago and it sat on the ground and molded. Last year they stopped using it in September and I did not fill it until late February.

RE: Do you Hunt over Bait?

I don't bait, it is illegal here to hunt over bait. I do feed the animals year round especially during the winter.I do stop feeding before the season starts and start back up after the season. Ramp down during hot weather and ramp up when weather is bad. With the ice storms last year they had nothing to eat except my feed. Gets very expensive. Probebly spend $300 or so a year on feed.
