Anybody have trouble with bone spurs?

Just curious. I've got one now on my right shoulder so when I draw my bow it's like a knife going down into my shoulder. Evidently it sits right where a tendon moves as I draw my bow and it slowly cuts at the tendon. I had one on my other shoulder a couple of years ago. It took 3 cortizone shots and a lot of anti-inflammatory pills to make it go away. That one actually tore my rotator cuff. I've also had them on my heels as well. I'm going to the doc on friday to get a cortizone shot. Sure hope it works.

Been there and done that. The problem with getting cortizone sor steroid shots on this kind of injury is that it doesn't remove the bone spur. Thus the bone spur continues to do it's dirty work; ripping and wearing a nerve, tendon, muscle or whatever. The shot just gets rid of the pain and some of the inflammation without removing the underlying cause.

What's my first sentence? Been there and done that.

Don't have 'em in my shoulders, that I know of. I do have one in my knee and I've got gobs of them in my spine. You ain't never lived until you've had cortisone injections in your back.;)

I have one in my shoulder that caused me to switch from right hand bow to left hand last year.

I had a debriedment of my left shoulder (type III spur)in '99 (along with a 50% tear repaired in my super spinatus tendon)....all done arthroscopically.

If it's caught in time.....arthro can take care of it.....and you'll be back in business in 3-4 weeks with JUST a spur debried.

If I were experiencing that type of pain (mine got so bad I couldn't sleep)....I'd go now and get it over with.

Just my .02
