Sighting In Your Bow

Hi fellas,

Do you guys sight in your bow at 10 or 20 yards? I've got a Truglo sight with the micro adjustments.

Thanks

With the speed of most bows today, there is no point in having a ten yard pin. My 20 yard pin is less than an inch high at 10 yards therefore my closest pin is set at 20 yards and then out.

If I put a new sight on, or have to change something on my bow, I'll usually start at 10 yrds. Don't want to lose or break and arrow.

I was told to use my 10 yard pin for 10 and 20 yard shots is this correct?

i shoot top pin set at 20 and 10yd increments past that.

last year i shot 15, 25 and 35. what i learned was my top 2 pins were way too close.

this year i can smoke a deer to 25 with my top pin. i like that.

I shoot a 25yd pin from 0 to 25yds. I sight that pin in at 25yds.

I also like the French Tune Method.

depends on how many pins you have!!!

1 pin fast bow set it @25 yards your good to go 10- 35 yards
3 pin set 20-30 40 if the woods allow
5 pin set 20 - 30 - 40 -50 - 60

alot depends on how fast your bow is, how light an arrow...

my suggestion get to know your limit and set from there....

I use to shoot 5 pins but when the moment of truth arrive can't pick a pin now i shoot 1 pin but thats me!!!

I have five pins? I was told to use the top pin out to 20 yards. But should I sight in at 10 or 20 yards?

Like Rob stated.....most Bows are so fast now a days that your shooting really close at the 10 yard and 20 yard mark so it is better to set your 1st pin at 20 yards then set the next pins where you choose. You can start out at 10 yards so you don't damage or loose anarrow, that is what I did when I got a new Bow a few years ago I had the pin set at 10 yards then shot at 20 yards and it was almost in the exact same spot.TheOwner in the Archery Shop told me to set the 1st pin at 20 yards, the 2nd at 30 yardsand the 3rd at 40 yards.
