In September I will shoot at a target with my 6 broadheads 1 time from 15 yards to 30 yards to make surethey are on target. Then I put a field tip on andshoot 1 time at the target to make sure it flies like my broadhead. Then fromthen on, I shoot from my tree stand that I have setup in the yard at my Full Rut Buck, just 1 shot per week.20 yards.

When you go up in the tree stand do you only take 4-6 arrows and keep climbimg up and down or just shoot 5-6 times then go in?

Ground, stands, sitting, kneeling, standing.. all ways..

I am taking no chances this year. Walked up on a couple very very nice bucks last year; bedded down near my stand. If I had been better prepared I would have had him; instead I spooked him off towards my other half and he got him.. :D

Anywhere from 6 to 60 shots from all distances to 60 yds.....with the majority being from 40+.

Ground and elevated.

Any time I get the chance.

Ussually about 40-50 shots on an outdoor 3-d range through the woods about 3-4 times a week. The other 3 or 4 days a week I'm not on the range I take 1 shot at a target here at the house (17yds). I'll make myself just stand there for a few minutes facing away from the target. Then slowly turn towards it and draw, aim, and shoot.

I practice whenever I have time. If it's a hectic work week you'll see me outside practicing at 6am before I go to work. If I have free time I'll shoot in the afternoon or evening. Lately I've been trying to do more shooting under low light conditions.

RE: practice

I practice year round. I shoot a couple of times a week all of the time shooting from 25 to 50 arrows. A couple of months before hunting season, I start shooting every other day. I shoot both from the ground and from a tree stand. Practice sessions should vary from shooter to shooter. When you start getting tired and your groups begin to spread out, stop. As time goes on, the amount of arrows you can shoot effectively will increase. I also strongly recommend shooting a few 3-D's before hunting season, if possible.
