What a cool day at the shop today.....

As most of you know, I work part time in a pro shop. I have a ton of fun doing that, and today is just another example of why.

Around 3 this afternoon, a dad walks in with his 11 y/o son. Says he wants to buy a bow for his son, so we start talking. Long story short, he buys a youth bow and I set it up for him. Cut his arrows down and we head to the range for his first ever archery shot.

After a little general instruction, young John draws, anchors and releases.....LOL......3 feet left, totally destroyed the arrow. BUT, that was 100% MY FAULT. When I set his bow up, I checked everything but the windage of his sight. It was WAY to far to the right, which I quickly remedied and I personally bought him a new arrow.

Ok, so we've got that fixed. 20 shots later, this young man is shooting a 3" group at 10 yards, and before today he's never shot a bow in his life! Needless to say, the grin on both his and dad's faces were absolutely worth getting out of bed today. Man I love archery! And now so does young John.

Anyway, I don't know why, but I just wanted to share that.....Carry on.

Dan, I'm not sure my shop could handle the "likes of you." :D:D

Naww....that would be pretty cool. I wish quite a few of us lived in closer proximity to each other.

Well done Don, he'll be alright as long as you don't teach him anything about killing bucks. ;)
