Caribou and Moose

I live in Alaska and am interested in anyones Ideas abouthunting for caribou or moose on short timing and on a short budget. Im in the Army and some brainiac pencil pusher decided i should go to do training for 5 weeks during the first week of Moose season. I know Caribou is open right now but im finding it hard to seperate family and hunting. Ive only been out once for bou but didnt see any

My great uncle was stationed in Anchorage or somewhere up there during the Korean War. He said they used to announce on the radio or over the intercom at the base if the caribou were crossing a road somewhere. You can get a migration report and when you figure out when they will be there set up on a crossing or migration trail. I went to hunt them in Quebec but I came back empty handed. Caught some nice lake trout though! Good luck
