Scouting check-in
 

Well, I just got back from scouting. I saw a small antlered buck but had a real big body on it. Probably a yearling, but had a real big body. I then decided where I will set up for my opening morning hunt; Right above a watering hole. Its a natural spring.

Anyhow, then I went for a hike and spooked up two deer. I walked around some bushes to see what kind they were and holy cow, two huge cow elk. The saw me and just took off. After I calmed down from seeing them, I condinued my journey and then....spooked up a Bull elk 5x5. I almost fainted right there. We just stared at each other for a good 5-10 minutes. After cleaning my pants I kept on walking and then.....spooked up a flock of turkeys....dang. Could it get any better?

I was just going to bow hunt for deer opening day, but with the amount of elk I saw...I just might have to work on elk to. Opening day is just under three weeks away.
