buck roar?
 

my brother was telling me about this call, it is suppose to be the 'new'buck call. What have some of you heard about this call? Are you going to buy it before this season?

I'm not sure about everywhere......but I'm betting in my woods it ranks right up there with an airhorn in how well it attracts deer.

I won't be purchasing one.

Used one last year a few times out of curiousity. Never saw any bucks come in when using it, but I did see some bucks heading for the next countyafter using it and visually watching thier reaction. Was what I expected, another dust collecter.

yeah, the next fad. MAD has the growl out last year. same deal as the primos. the MAD does sound good as a grunt call though.

I didn't plan on purchasing one either, just curious. I huntin north florida, I know every buck for miles would run in the opposite direction!

Buck Growl performs better I bagged this bad boy while using it.

A buddy of mine got a nice 8-point with the growl. I never used one, so I can't give first hand experience.

Tell me......would you go fight for a woman if you had 6 laying in the room with you? Why would you expect a buck to?

I had one come in last year while using it, the growl part seems kinda odd sounding to me. I do agree that the grunt call does sound good.

Everytime i see you in this picture I say:

Damn nice deer and really nice blue blockers;)

As for the mighty roar, if you have a pile of mature deer around i say roar away, just not in my county;)

Def. going to try the growl this year ...I heard from all my buddies nothing but good from it and felt left out .

Seems like I'll most likely use it for tending grunts mixed with estrus bleats. But should the occasion ever arise to use a very aggressive call, I know the Buck Roar won't turn into a duck caller.
Personally, I'd say it's worth the $20.

Just seemed really gimmicky to me. But then again i did a good 8pt last yr during the rut with both ears split down the middle, maybe I could call up the big boy this yr.

Instead of the buck roar, i use the mad calls buck growl.. it works very well with a decoy during the rut!

Jeff, what if you're in the room with 6 womenthat are doing nothing but b!+ching and moaning, and one walks by giving the come hither eyes and another guy is dogging her. I know where I'm going.

That's why bucks cruise during the rut. They are trying to find the one that's ready. If they were harem creatures like elk it may be different. Bucks cruise regardless of buck to do ratio, they probably don't have to cruise as far with an out of whack ratio.

That said, the Buck Roar probably makes a fine grunt call when used on the right buck at the right time. Otherwise, it probably won't be any more effective than any other call.
