Broadhead Sharpness

I sharpened my broadheads today. They felt very sharp. I was wondering if anyone knew how to tell if a broadhead is sharp enough to hunt with? My dad has never hunted with a bow but he says he thinks they are sharp enough. I just want to make sure, thanks.

Dave,

You're worried about one of the most important things!

Take a look at the following for lots of fun stuff:

and spit on your forearm - if you can shave the hair off your arm with it, then it is sharp enough.

I feel a head should shave hair. Now it doesn't need to "jump" off, but with some moderate pressure you should be able to remove hair. If they don't, then I won't hunt with them.

TAKE YOUR KIDS HUNTING AND YOU WON'T BE HUNTING FOR YOUR KIDS

The rule for sharpness at one of the military bases where you can hunt is this:

You stretch a rubber band between your thumb and index fingers. With the broadhead attached to the arrow shaft, slide the broadhead edge over the rubber band. It should cut it immediately.

rub it sidways on your fingernail and if it sticks its sharp enough...if it slides then keep working on it.

if mine cant get the hair to come off with little to no pressure at all it isnt sharp enough. I want to take ALL the hair, not just a few, and as I tell folks here, be scared to go any farther without taking off the top half of my arm! When I am there, its sharp enough!
