RUBBER BOOTS?

I need to replace my old boots. I want a good insulated rubber boot. Any suggestions/recommendations? Any links would be appreciated.

It depends on how much you want to spend. I can't afford the very high quality of boots they have out there. I bought a pair of Whinchester rubber boots and they do pretty good. They also don't cost very much. The only bad thing about them is that they only have 200 grams of Thinsulate, but if you hunt where it is not very cold, then they will do fine.

muck and lacrosse are the only way to go for rubber boots. insulated id probably pick muck. something you can wear from spring turkey to december muzzleloader i went with lacrosse alpha burly uninsulated.

i couldnt tell you which brand is more comfortable, but probably the mucks.

I have tried a couple of different brands of rubber boots and the LaCrosse Alpha Burley is the most comfortable. However, if I am covering a lot of ground they make my feet sweat. By the end of the day my socks are wet and the inside of the boots tend to still be damp the next morning. If I am in a blind or tree stand, they are great.

personally i use a pair of rubber **** kickers...pardon my language...but they work really well...when its cold a pair of wool socks does the job

I'd suggest Cabela's Dura-trax. I've had mine for two seasons now. I think they're every bit as good as LaCrosse and I think theboot is tougher, less prone to punctures.

I'm a big fan of the burly from LaCrosse but now rocky makes a good one and their are some good scentloc boots out now wich may be worth looking into...I have 2 pair of burlys one insulated and one not insulated...

If you are looking for an insulated boot, watch out for them being heavy. It's tough adding a lot of weight if you have a long walk.

nybowhunter,

You made me smile.

> It's tough adding a lot of weight if you have a long walk.

I ride a wheelchair. <smile> The weight is less important. The insulation is a must as my feet don't get any exercise and freeze easy. The choices are great though. Thanks for the help.
