CORN $$

Anybody making substitutes for corn in your feeders this year due to cost? What looks more cost effective?

I believe the going rate is about $7/100 in bulk-w/bagging it was running me around $9/100 last time I bought it. I would love to be able to get it for $3/50 now.

I like using barley. I can either get a pickup box full from an elevator or else a farmer. Not sure what its gonna cost yet though, would have to be cheaper than corn and the deer around here love barley.

i guess corn is about like gas......cuz its like 6 or 7 bucks per 50 lb bag around here.[:'(] i bought two bags, and decided it wasnt worth putting em out, too valuable lol. ill probably wait until i have a game camera till i put this gold out.

RE: CORN $$

RE: CORN $$

Like lots said I have nooo idea what could be cheaper. My poultry feed though has sky rocketed to close to 12 bucks a 50# bag. I get whole corn for around 7 bucks at local feed. But I just look for bags that either are damaged or the mice got in and get them for half price or free. I see no reason why not. Because most of the time it is just a rip not mouse damage.
:D
