RE: Treestands in open trees?
A naked pine tree is a tough way to fill a tag.
Any movement and you are busted, and from a long way off. Worse yet, after you have been busted once or twice the will be looking for you up there for ever. Someone offered good advise = Do it right the first time In similar situations I have used climbing sticks and a lock on instead of my climber and wired some branches around the lock on for cover. My buddies in Alabama scrounge up artificial Xmas trees after the holidays and use them to brush in their ladder stands. First time i saw it I laughed and thought the boys were crazy, thinking about it a little more they are CRAZY ---Craazy like a fox The artificial brancheshave wire stems (makes them easy to use), they are thicker (bulkier) than twigs and branches, they last all season, they work really well in pine trees, and it lets others know a CRAZY REDNECK owns the stand -- Don't Mess with it, LOL |
RE: Treestands in open trees?
hide the stand as good as possible, restrict movement and wear an open pattern like predator, enigma or asat camo

RE: Treestands in open trees?
I have a camo skirt that I put around my stand to hide any foot and hand movements. I've also taken brances and tied them to my stand to give me more of that "tree" look.
