Fifteen days and a wakeup!! Amazing!
I've never had time fly by like this before leading up to an anticipated trip! In just over two weeks, I'll be heading out with a couple buddies to Montrose, Colorado to spend a week and a half chasing elk.
I can't wait; never before have I prepared so hard. I've cut out almost all my junk food over the summer (specifically, my biggest weaknesses: ice cream and Rotel cheese dip), almost all sodas (I've had a couple over the summer, but not many), ran regularly here lately, done a ton of incline crunches and shot my bow more than ever in my life. I've literally put a few thousand shots through my new Allegiance. My bows are tuned flawlessly (I stopped shooting broadheads at 50 yards at the same spot a few weeks ago) and all my equipment has been double-checked! I'm waiting on a couple new Wolfskin outfits in Predator to arrive from Gray Wolf Woolens, and I'll be completely ready!
Now... if I can only get those elk to cooperate!
There's still a couple of you guys who've graciously extended an invitation to call and talk tactics, and I still plan on doing that soon. Amazing how busy I can get in the evening time with a four-year-old and a three-month-old...

Thats awsome Greg, I wish you the best of luck and I hope there will be one less buggling monarch out in the mountains of Colorado this fall!
P.S. What are you doing on the internet, shouldn't you be out for a 5 mile run right now?

Good Luck on your Elk Hunt. Anticipation is someting else isn't it. I amleaving September 7thon a Moose hunt in Alaska and I know how you feel. I am also a BowTech archer, shooting both an Allegiance and a Guardian. After taking 4 elk with a bow (3 in Arizona and 1 in Utah), I am envious of your upcoming hunt. I am not sure anything compares to being archery close to a bugling bull elk. Let us know how you do. Again, best of luck.
