I put my stands at anywhere from 16-18 feet up. I wouldn't say 15 feet is to low,but how high you put a stand up in a tree can be decided by a few different things like hills, ridges, and flat areas. I would say anywhere from 15 to 18 feet is an all around ideal height for a stand.

yeah in my experience 15 feet is ok for a treestand. I usually keep it between 15 and 20 depending on the tree I am in

I have stayed low and climbed very high............all depends on where I am and what tree I am in. Wherever the best cover is.

I tie my tow rope to my front rail and go, when I feel my bow coming off the ground (20 ft) I make a judgement call if I need to go up or down a little but I try to stay in that ballpark.

The higher you get the sharper the angle your shot will be..........no pass through and one hole high in the back makes for a tougher tracking job in my experience.

It is not uncommon for deer to look up around here either.

Twenty four feet or higher depending on the tree and the area , thirty two feet was the highest I've ever been in a tree.

Last year my first stand was only about 12 feet up. Only had 1 doe spot me and that is probably because I was so busy watching her fawns eat acorns and fart around that I got careless with my moevement. I had deer walk right under my stand and never even know that I was there. My 2nd stand was about 15 feet up. Cover was so good there I could probably do jumping jacks and not get spotted.
