Well... As 2002 comes to an end, I wanted to share the pictures of my harvest. It was the best season I've had all my life as I had enough time to hunt hard both with a bow and with a rifle. Being out at the right time sure paid off big time this year.
Here's a picture of my first buck killed with a bow. He was a mature 11 pointer. He's being shoulder mounted right now.

Here's a picture of the largest buck I've harvested with a rifle so far. Nice 8 point buck. I harvested him about 250 yards from where I harvested the 11 point buck the week before.

Both were harvested in private property, no high fences, and no trophy fees. I'm blessed to have family with good land I guess.
I hope to have another great year sooner or later. I don't know if this year will be beaten anytime soon. It was a year to remember for me regarding deer hunting. I will cherished this season for as long as I hunt. They're not the monster bucks you see on the internet, but they're big enough for me.

I am having the 8 pointer's antlers mounted. I have another 35-40 years of hunting on me, so I figured there is a chance I can get a bigger one with a gun....
The one with a bow, it was a different story. Him being the first one, and being a 11 pointer, I figured my 'number' came up and the odds of getting another one bigger are not as good as with a rifle.

Congrats on the deer. I can't see the pictures, but they both sound like great trophies!
